Bern has been a member of the Bedford League for over 40 as a player, umpire, mentor, tester and committee member. She served on the League Committee for many years as both Chair and Umpiring Secretary and the County Committee as Umpiring Secretary and the Regional Officiating Lead. Bern is one of the Leagues only A award umpires – a huge achievement. Grass roots netball is at the heart of all she does as she is a key member of the mentoring team that mentors, develops and tests approx. 20 IO umpires a season. Despite all her other non-league commitments Bern is always there for the league, from umpiring weekly to delivering courses. She gives of her time selflessly.
