The Gloria Keech Trophy
Gloria has been involved in Netball since the very early age of 9. She has been part of the Bedford League and Bedfordshire County in varying roles for over 50 years.
She served on the League Committee in several roles with a long spell, 1991-2005, as League Secretary. She stepped down as County Chair in 2024 and is one of the longest serving volunteers nationally in this role, holding the position for nearly 30 years.
Gloria as an A award umpire, had involvement in umpiring, tutoring and mentoring. For many years she assisted the Bedford League to both support and develop umpires.
As a volunteer she has held roles at League, County, Regional and National levels. Gloria was a founder member of Mavericks Netball, the Superleague Club (now known as London Mavericks). She was the winner of BBC East’s Unsung Hero Award in 2013, and awarded the England Netball HLM in 2019 for her “contribution to the game, particularly in respect of volunteering at all levels of the game”.
Gloria’s enthusiasm is second to none and her love of netball in Bedfordshire is evident in all that she has done and achieved – an amazing asset for Bedfordshire netball.
